The awards celebrate outstanding individual artistry in acting, vocal performance, and dance, with the top two performers advancing to the National High School Musical Theatre Awards in New York City.

Skyline's Theatre Arts courses have been chosen by the National Coalition of Core Arts Standards to pilot the new national standards in theatre arts educationNCCAS is a partnership of nine national arts and education organizations that are committed to developing a next generation of voluntary, researched-based arts education standards. The new standards support the 21st-century needs of students and teachers, help ensure that all students are college and career ready, and affirm the place of arts education in a balanced core curriculum.
