​The International Thespian Society is an international student organization sponsored by the Educational Theatre Association that supports high school theatre arts and provides leadership opportunities for students at the state and national level. 

 

Many schools throughout the state have a 'Thespian Troupe'.  We are Thespian Troupe 7400.  The students involved call themselves Thespians, named after the first Greek actor: Thespys.

 

There is a $20 one-time fee to join the society, which includes a subscription to the online theatre magazine, Dramatics. Members have after-school meetings on Mondays after the general membership meeting. Students must earn 10 points by working hard on Skyline shows and in the theatre classes to become an elite thespian, wherein you also earn a Varsity Letter!

 

Additionally, we annually attend the Michigan Thespian Festival. The festival includes individual event competitions, workshops, performances, college information for all students participating, as well as scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors.

Thespians, in turn, have opportunities to receive special awards at the end of the school year, including graduating with honors cords. This club also looks fantastic on college resumes!
